Welcome to Volume 4, Issue 1 of the IMCC Journal of Science!
The editorial team is pleased to present the first issue of the IMCC Journal of Science for 2024. This issue marks a significant development for the publication, with a refined focus and expanding reach.
Aligning with Scientific Inquiry
Volume 4 introduces a narrower scope for the journal. The focus has shifted to publishing high-quality research in the natural sciences (astronomy, biology, chemistry, etc.) and applied sciences (engineering, medicine, technology, etc.). This streamlined approach allows for a more focused platform for scientific discourse and discovery.
However, the importance of interdisciplinarity is recognized. Submissions in education, management, and social sciences remain welcome, provided they demonstrate a rigorous scientific grounding and utilize methodologies consistent with established research practices.
A Diverse and Impactful Collection
This issue exemplifies the breadth and depth of research conducted by scientists worldwide. Five insightful articles are presented, with two exploring the medical field:
- “Role of Squash Cytology in the Diagnosis of Pediatric Intracranial Tumors in a Tertiary Care Hospital” investigates a novel diagnostic technique.
- “Subclinical Hypothyroidism Progressing to Clinical Overt Hypothyroidism Following Moderate COVID-19 Pneumonia” examines a potential post-COVID complication.
The remaining articles showcase a strong environmental and agricultural focus:
- “Proximate and Anti-Nutritional Analyses of Three Varieties of Soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill.)” contributes valuable knowledge to the agricultural sector.
- “Assessment of Watershed Condition in Lugait, Misamis Oriental, Philippines” and “Assessment of Heavy Metal Accumulation in Mangroves of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, Philippines” offer crucial insights into local environmental health.
This collection reflects the journal’s international reach, with contributions from Indian and Nigerian researchers alongside Filipino researchers based in Iligan City.
A Publication on the Rise
The IMCC Journal of Science has seen a gratifying increase in readership. Since May 2023, the number of readers has doubled, growing from approximately 6,000 to a remarkable 14,000 this year. This surge in interest is a testament to the high caliber of research published and the dedication of the journal’s authors and reviewers.
A Note on Format Changes
A new publication paper format has been adopted by the IMCC Journal of Science for the 2024 issues. Detailed information on the updated format guidelines can be found on the journal’s website.
Readers are encouraged to explore the fascinating research presented in this issue. Feedback is always welcome, and the journal looks forward to receiving valuable submissions for future editions.
