Curriculum Exit Preferences and Success Stories of Senior High School Graduates
Abstract:
This qualitative study examines the success stories of distinguished senior high school graduates, focusing on their curriculum exit preferences and the factors that influenced their achievements. Based on in-depth interviews with six purposively selected graduates, responses were transcribed, coded, thematized, and analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings indicate that pursuing personal passions and interests fosters fulfillment and achievement, while financial pressures can constrain curriculum exit decisions and limit alternative pathways. Graduates emphasized the significance of the strands they took during senior high school, which provided a strong foundation for their chosen exit paths. Additionally, a clear vision of career opportunities after graduation motivated graduates to remain determined in achieving their goals.
