Employees’ Organizational Change Attitude, Work Engagement and Good Governance Practices of a Local Government Unit

Abstract:

This descriptive-correlational study explored the organizational change attitude, work engagement, and good governance practices among personnel in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte. A total of LGU employees participated in the study, which employed a mixed-methods approach combining surveys and interviews to validate findings through methodological triangulation. Results indicated that employees displayed a generally positive attitude toward organizational change, while their level of work engagement was rated as engaged. Good governance practices were assessed as being always practiced. Correlation analysis revealed a significant relationship between good governance practices and both organizational change attitude and work engagement. These findings imply that good governance directly influences how employees adapt to change and engage with their work. The study recommends that LGUs enhance change management strategies, promote meaningful employee involvement, and strengthen transparency and communication efforts. Doing so will not only improve internal workplace culture but also contribute to better service delivery to the public.
