Lived Experiences of School Administrators in Managing School and Community Relation in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy

Abstract:

This phenomenological qualitative study explores the lived experiences of school administrators in managing school-community relations at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy. Through in-depth interviews and narrative accounts, the study investigates the administrators’ coping strategies, the challenges they encounter, and the best practices they develop in fostering partnerships between the school and its surrounding community. The findings emphasize the pivotal role of effective communication, sustained community engagement, proactive conflict resolution, and the public recognition of student achievements in cultivating mutual trust and long-term collaboration. Administrators reported navigating barriers such as communication gaps, limited resources, and recurring conflicts, which they address through adaptive leadership and innovative, context-responsive solutions. The study offers actionable insights that can guide school leaders, community stakeholders, and policy makers—across both public and private educational settings—in reinforcing inclusive and resilient school-community relations.
